Heating & Air in Cypress, TX

Cy-Fair neighborhoods from the 1980s to brand-new builds, and plenty of two-story homes.

Housing
1980s–1990s Cy-Fair subdivisions plus 2000s–2020s master-planned communities.
Power & gas
CenterPoint Energy delivers electricity and natural gas to most Cypress addresses.
New equipment
New systems now use lower-GWP A2L refrigerants (such as R-454B or R-32). We install and service them to the current rules.

Cypress stretches across northwest Harris County along US 290 and the Grand Parkway, from established Cy-Fair neighborhoods to master-planned communities like Towne Lake and Bridgeland that are still building. It is one of the fastest-growing parts of the Houston area, and a lot of its HVAC equipment is reaching its first replacement.

Newer homes are built tighter, which makes humidity control and correct system sizing more important. An oversized AC cools quickly but leaves the air clammy. Two-story homes often run a separate upstairs unit in the attic, and that unit does the hardest work all summer.

Cypress questions

Asked by Cypress homeowners.

My Cypress home is only 15–20 years old. Why is the AC failing already?

Air conditioners in Houston work hard for most of the year, and around 12 to 15 years is a typical lifespan here, sometimes less with equipment in a hot attic. A 15- to 20-year-old system has done its job. We’ll check whether it’s worth repairing or time to plan a replacement.

Why does my new home feel humid even when it’s cool?

Usually the system is oversized, the fan setting is wrong, or the system can’t run long enough to pull moisture out. We check sizing, airflow and settings, and can add dehumidification if needed.

Do new systems use a different refrigerant now?

Yes. New residential systems now use lower-GWP refrigerants such as R-454B or R-32 instead of R-410A. Existing R-410A systems can still be repaired and serviced.

Do you install smart thermostats?

Yes. We install thermostats, including smart models, and set them up properly for your equipment, including two-stage and heat pump systems.
